NIDA - National Institute of Dramatic Art

NIDA stands as Australia’s premier dramatic arts institution, ranked #13 among the world’s top 25 drama schools and the only one outside England and the USA to make this prestigious list.

This is where magic happens – where NIDA alumni have collectively won close to 1,000 awards including 8 Academy Awards, 9 Golden Globes, 10 Emmys, 48 Logies, 18 BAFTAs, 5 Oliviers, and 3 Tonys. From Cate Blanchett to Mel Gibson, some of the world’s most celebrated performers have walked these very halls.

Getting there

Regarding parking, here are some options:

  • UNSW Car Park: It is adjacent to NIDA. However it is not free and not many spot are available for drivers without permit.
  • Doncaster Ave: You can drive down Day Ave and park on Doncaster Ave, though please note there are time limits.
  • Mooramie Ave: This is a residential area, so parking is not metered. It’s also a short walk of less than 5 minutes to the venue.
Alternatively, light rail stops right outside NIDA on Anzac Parade.
