Affinity Intercultural Foundation

Affinity Intercultural Foundation is a dialogue platform operating since 2000 with the aim of strengthening social bonds and promoting cultural diversity and understanding through social interaction.

Affinity’s objective is to establish a better future for the common benefit of humanity and to enhance mutual respect and understanding in this multicultural nation of ours.

Affinity is a non-profit organisation that works on programs in partnership with other community organisations and government agencies at all levels. Since its establishment, Affinity has led the way in pioneering many initiatives which have been replicated, including Mosque Open Day, international study tours, Ramadan multifaith iftar dinners, home iftar dinners, the Affinity Awards, weekend BBQ & Brekkie programs, women’s and youth programs, academic conferences, cultural exhibitions, lecture series, roundtable discussions, film screenings and more.

Australia is a rich and diverse country which espouses equality, mutual respect, understanding and acceptance. It offers common values that all of its people could relate to and help play a role in. It is for this reason that Affinity has lent its support to the International Festival of Language and Culture (“IFLC”), where students from all corners of the globe are invited to come as they are, appear in their national dress and proudly present a cultural performance from their rich tradition.

This celebration is an opportunity to promote global fellowship and to remind us that no culture is superior to another, but rather make a statement that the world’s mosaic looks even more beautiful with everyone’s contribution. The colours of the world paint a story that says we have a lot in common, a lot to share and a lot to be proud of. It is with the fusion of these colours that has defined our common humanity and engendered the advancement of civilisation.
